The Story Named for the Sanskrit word for heart, hridaya, the seat of consciousness in ancient Indian philosophy, this necklace is built entirely around that one form, repeated across the full sweep of the strand in an unbroken rhythm of devotion. Each silver heart is its own small object: hand-engraved, beaded at the border, tipped with a small ball drop. Together they create a collar of singular visual power, their downward-pointing forms echoing the classic paan motif of auspicious Indian ornament. Strung between them, warm honey-yellow jade and flashes of deep red complete a colour story that feels simultaneously ancient and startlingly modern.
The Craft Every heart-shaped pendant in this necklace is individually cast and hand-engraved with a floral and foliage motif, no two quite identical, each one carrying the subtle variation that is the signature of genuine handwork. The borders are finished with fine beaded edging and terminate in small ball drops at the pointed tip, a detail that gives each piece its own quiet movement. The hearts are linked directly to the bead strand, forming a continuous fringe around the neckline rather than a single central pendant, a construction that distributes the visual drama evenly and creates a piece that is as impressive from a distance as it is close up.
The Materials The heart pendants are forged in oxidised sterling silver, their patina deep and warm. They are strung on a hand-selected strand of natural yellow jade rondelles punctuated throughout with faceted coral beads, the amber and crimson together producing a richness that brings the oxidised silver to life in a way that cooler stones simply could not.
